After 33 years of running Custom Grafix, we congratulate Wayne on his retirement.
Wayne started Custom Grafix in Braeside, Victoria in 1988. Over the duration of Wayne’s career, he built a successful signage company, at the forefront of the vinyl wrapping industry in Melbourne.
Wayne and his team have worked with local & interstate businesses and government organisations on a wide range of high quality projects.
Wayne is looking forward to retirement in country Victoria, where he can spend his days wood-working, fishing and tinkering on his custom cars!
The new director of Custom Grafix is Lachlan Coates of Burst Group.
Lachlan has spent the last 10 years building his business (Burst Brand) in Seaford, South East Melbourne. Burst specialise in custom branded signage solutions for businesses, with a high level of capability across vehicle wrapping, 3D & illuminated signage, metal & acrylic fabrication, large format print and custom displays.
Burst and Custom Grafix are very complimentary businesses with a similar service offering, production equipment, and staff capabilities. We expect this to be a very smooth and easy transition, backed by years of experience and Wayne’s ongoing support.
Lachlan, along with a team of 7 staff, are excited to continue delivering the same exceptional work that Wayne has produced through Custom Grafix over the past 33 years.
Lachlan is passionate about working with people to design, produce and install purposeful and engaging signage solutions for businesses and brands.

Here are some key points that may be relevant to you;
Custom Grafix will be operating as usual, but with a few new faces around the place!
Our production and installation capabilities remain the same, with the addition of a few new services including custom fabrication, LED illumination and design.
Custom Grafix will be moving from Braeside, to 241 Boundary Road in Mordialloc (approx. 3 minutes away). For some added convenience, we will also run operations from Burst’s Seaford location (1 Curie Court).
Custom Grafix clients will have access to new production equipment including eco-solvent and latex large format printing, CNC routing, laser cutting, welding and more.
We have full access to over 5 years of Custom Grafix design and production files which enables us to keep producing consistent signage for your business, without any changes to design, production, or installation methods.
All contact methods remain the same (including landline, mobile, email, website, and social media). The best point of contact is now Custom Grafix’s new director, Lachlan Coates.
The Custom Grafix factory will be relocated from Braeside, to 241 Boundary Road in Mordialloc so you will now have the choice of 2 install locations (Burst in Seaford, or Cusom Grafix in Mordialloc).
Our bank account details have changed, which will be noted on every invoice for the 22/23 financial year. Incorrect payments to the old account will bounce back.
We intend for a smooth transition for all Custom Grafix clients by minimising change wherever possible. We look forward to bringing a fresh new perspective to the Custom Grafix brand.
